Partners in Service: Club Marine and R Marine Crawley
When Club Marine reached out to feature long-time Riviera owner Mike Bolton’s story, our team at R Marine Crawley was proud to assist with the film shoot on Mike’s Riviera 52 Enclosed Flybridge off the Gold Coast, Australia.
Our Dealer Principal, Travis Edney, joined on the day to walk through the boat with Mike — offering expertise, a few laughs, and plenty of shared passion for life on the water. It was the perfect reflection of what makes our community special: experienced people helping each other make the most of their time on the water.
Mike isn’t just a client — he’s part of the R Marine Crawley family. He’s a regular at our owner experiences, trips, and events, always ready with a story, a grin, and an enthusiasm for boating that’s contagious.
We’re grateful to Club Marine for sharing Mike’s journey and for their ongoing commitment to supporting boat owners across Australia. Their story perfectly captures what we stand for at R Marine Crawley — confidence, care, and connection on the water.

A Story Worth Sharing — Club Marine’s Feature on Mike Bolton
For long-time Riviera owner Mike Bolton, life on the water isn’t just a hobby — it’s a way of life.
“I’ve been retired for ten years now,” Mike says, “and my kids joke that the boat is the most loved child.”
Mike and his wife, Jen, have been boating for decades. Their 2016 Riviera 52 Enclosed Flybridge has taken them everywhere from the Whitsundays to Sydney. For Mike, nothing beats dropping anchor at the end of the day and watching the sun disappear over calm water.
“That’s just magic,” he says. “It puts a smile on my dial every time.”
But as every seasoned skipper knows, boating isn’t all sunsets and smooth sailing — preparation matters. On one unforgettable night off the Queensland coast, Mike’s careful planning was tested when a violent storm rolled in.
“We knew some weather was coming, but this system was beyond anything we’d ever seen,” he recalls. “Winds over 120 kilometres an hour, lightning everywhere. It was horrendous.”
Confidence When It Matters
When the storm cleared, Mike discovered that lightning had caused significant damage to his onboard electronics. Still, what stood out to him wasn’t just the storm, but how quickly he was supported afterward.
That’s when his insurance provider, Club Marine, stepped in.
“We called Club Marine straight away. They put me in touch with an assessor who really knew his stuff — not just about insurance, but about boats, and even my particular Riviera model,” Mike explains. “The communication was clear, the process was smooth, and it was a job well done.”
Mike’s been a Club Marine member for over 21 years, and a proud R Marine Crawley client for much of that time. The trust runs deep.
“I insure my boat with Club Marine because they’re specialists,” he says. “They know boats. They know people like us.”
That knowledge — and that shared love of boating — is exactly why R Marine Crawley recommends Club Marine to our Riviera owners. Both companies are built around the same philosophy: expertise, reliability, and genuine care for the boating community.
