Boating lifestyle & safety tips for this Festive Season on the water.

Summer on the Gold Coast gives us plenty of opportunities to get out on the water and enjoy our boats no matter the shape or size.
Over the Christmas – New Year’s Eve break we can expect our waterways to be bursting at the seams with people enjoying themselves & the great outdoors.

Follow a few simple tips to make it both an enjoyable and safe time on the water.

Is your boat ready?

First & foremost – Give the old girl a thorough clean up – go on, she deserves it.

We know life can get in the way, cleaning your boat on a regular basis keeps it in the best possible shape and ensures she is ready to go when you are.

I know the water is calling but we can not stress enough just how important it is to have your vessels electronics, radio equipment, lights and of course motors in good working order.

Safety gear is a MUST – The last thing you want is for something to go pear-shaped out there and you not be prepared!
Below is a list of the recommended safety gear you should have on board.

No-brainer, right…

Its also a good idea to have a 1st Mate in case the festivities take over and the Captain gets carried away.

Drink & Be Merry but also:

Be responsible

Plan ahead

Stay the night

~ Ladies – When it comes boating, you can still look fabulous with stylish hats, a gorgeous Moo moo & plenty of sunscreen. ~

2020 New Years Eve Fireworks.

This year we have become accustomed to plans changing due to the recent health issues.

This New year will be no different.

As of November 2020, the Surfers Paradise Midnight Firework & Brisbane River fireworks have unfortunately been cancelled.

Other locations you will be able to enjoy the light show will be:

  • Broadwater Parklands – 8.30 pm
  • Paradise Point – 9.00pm

We know is a bit of a letdown but we are sure you will still enjoy a fantastic Festive Season on the water.

Merry Christmas & Safe Boating.
