Brisbane Experience 2021

Our R Marine Crawley Brisbane River Experience began with a breathtaking sunrise & calm waters. Departing the Gold Coast with a flotilla of Riviera’s early Friday morning we enjoyed a slow cruise towards our anchorage at Peel Island for a lazy morning in the sun & a quick bite to eat.

Our journey up the Brisbane River allowed us to take in the everchanging sites along the way, we all looked skywards as we passed under the impressive Gateway Bridge & marveled at some of the magnificent houses that adorn the shoreline.
Arriving at Dockside Marina by mid afternoon, we had the chance to mingle with the rest of the fleet & get ourselves ready for our RMC Welcome Dinner.  A leisurely stroll along the waterfront lead us to Medley Restaurant, where we enjoyed a delicious 3 course meal, some great laughs, the acoustic sounds of the live entertainment with a stunning view of the Brisbane River & the Story Bridge as our backdrop.

A free morning was enjoyed by all on Saturday before we made our way to the Botanical Gardens for our catered picnic in the park. This is always a favored part of our getaway as it gives everyone a chance to wind down while they catch up.
With a special little Mothers Day gift put together for the amazing Mumma’s who were with us on this trip, delicious antipasto platters, a selection of gourmet wraps & sandwiches, supplied by the Gardens Club we were able to while the afternoon away in the dappled sunshine under the beautiful tree’s of the garden.

Saturday night was our Bris-Vegas themed dock party, & wow what a party. With everyone dressed in either Vegas or Casino themed costumes ranging from the King himself to the RMC Crew as the Wolf Pack from The Hangover & everyone in between.

We even had a bride & groom (why else would you go to Vegas, right)..
Put 2 & 2 together… Elvis + Bride & Groom = Wedding.
Of course, we couldn’t let the opportunity pass us by, so we threw an impromptu wedding for the happy couple. Unfortunately, we had a runaway bride, but lucky to have another remarkable couple who were happy to step up & renew their vows again… For the 4th time no less, Congratulations Lyn & Stewart.

I must say Elvis more than lived up to his reputation as The King as he performed the nuptials.

Sunday Morning – Mothers Day. A little cooler this morning, so perfect for taking our time getting out of bed & beginning our day. It was time to depart, head for home & end our Brisbane River Experience for another year.

R Marine Crawley would love to thank all of our wonderful clients for joining us on this adventure and we look forward to seeing you all again soon.
