Participants gathered at R Marine Crawley Headquarters at Runaway Bay, eager to sharpen one of the most vital skills in boating — communication. For many, the session represented more than just another requirement; it was a meaningful step toward safer and more confident time on the water.
Training with Purpose
R Marine Crawley, in partnership with Volunteer Marine Rescue (VMR) Southport, recently hosted a Short Range Operator Certificate of Proficiency (SROCP) training session that equips our clients to operate VHF marine radio equipment.
The course helped participants better understand how to stay safe and connected on busy waterways. Reliable radio communication is essential for every vessel, ensuring help and coordination are always within reach.
Hands-On Training That Inspires Confidence
Throughout the training, participants engaged in practical exercises and real-life radio scenarios guided by experienced VMR Southport instructors. From correct radio etiquette to emergency procedures, the focus remained on practical, real-world application. The result was a productive session where new knowledge met growing confidence.
