Expanding our sales team

We’re thrilled to expand our sales team with two exceptional additions! Brendon joins R Marine Crawley as our new Sales Manager, bringing a well-rounded background and expertise to guide our growing team.

Daniel also joins us in a junior sales role, eager to learn and contribute his fresh perspective.

These new talents will work alongside our highly-respected senior broker, Ben Leigh-Smith, known for his professionalism, deep industry knowledge, and commitment to client satisfaction. Brendon Symons | Sales Manager

R Marine Crawley is excited to welcome Brendon as our new Sales Manager. With over seven years of international experience in the yachting industry, Brendon brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our team. His journey began as a project manager and owner’s representative, overseeing the design and production of various superyacht brands. This role honed his technical skills and gave him a deep understanding of the luxury vessel market.

Following his project management tenure, Brendon took on the role of Captain, where he skillfully managed and operated multimillion-dollar yachts. This hands-on experience provided him with invaluable insights into the practical aspects of yacht ownership and operations.

Brendon’s transition into sales and management was a natural progression. Utilising his comprehensive operational knowledge, he has effectively guided clients through the entire spectrum of yacht ownership, from purchasing to selling. His approach is underpinned by his extensive marine background and robust sales and marketing expertise. Brendon’s exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, have made him an effective advocate for his clients, ensuring they are well-informed at every stage of their vessel ownership journey.

As a results-driven professional, Brendon’s unique combination of operational experience and sales insight is complemented by his strong leadership and organisational abilities. Outside of work, Brendon enjoys all that Queensland has to offer, from boating to beach trips, and cherishes spending time with family and friends. His passion for the marine lifestyle resonates with our ethos at R Marine Crawley, and we are thrilled to have him lead our sales team. Join us in welcoming Brendon to our family!

 

Daniel Hodge | Junior Luxury Boat Broker

The R Marine Crawley team is proud to welcome Daniel, a lifelong boater whose passion for the water fuels his dedication to helping clients navigate the pre-owned vessel market. His hands-on experience with boat renovations and his background in selling the iconic Haines Hunter brand gives him a unique perspective on the mechanical and sales aspects of pre-owned boats.

Daniel is eager to learn and grow along with the experienced professionals at R Marine Crawley. By absorbing our proven methods and industry insights, he’ll further refine his skills, translating to a seamless and rewarding experience for our clients.

Thierry Spies | Warranty & Delivery Manager

We’re excited to welcome Thierry Spies to the R Marine Crawley team as a new Warranty & Delivery Manager.

Born and raised on the border of Switzerland and Italy, close to the stunning Lake Como, Thierry’s early life was deeply intertwined with water. Thierry’s professional path began in the luxury car sector in Switzerland, where he honed his skills in new car and business fleet sales.

A working holiday visa brought Thierry to Australia, and it didn’t take long for him to fall in love with the country’s rich marine life. His journey in Australia led him to pursue a qualification as a boat builder from TAFE, further specialising in areas like carbon fibre, lamination, Kevlar, teak decking construction, and electrical fit-outs.

We are delighted to have Thierry on board and look forward to the unique perspective and dedication he brings to our team. Join us in welcoming Thierry Spies to the R Marine Crawley family!

RMC ELECTRONICS: EXPERT INSTALLATION & INTEGRATION

R Marine Crawley welcomes two outstanding new members to our team, Craig Folker and Jared, who bring valuable experience and enthusiasm to our electronics department.

Craig Folker joins us as the Electrical Project Manager, bringing 18 years of expertise from Riviera Australia. Renowned for his professional achievements and friendly demeanour, Craig’s journey from apprentice to Apprentice of the Year at the 48th Queensland Training Awards highlights his dedication to the marine industry. His hands-on experience and ownership of his own vessel exemplify his deep-rooted love for the marine world.

Jared, our promising apprentice in marine electronics, is demonstrating impressive potential under Craig’s mentorship. With a background in electronics and communications, Jared is adept at troubleshooting and upgrading marine electrical systems. His passion for the outdoors and boating aligns with our commitment to enhancing our clients’ on-the-water experiences.

Craig and Jared’s professionalism, expertise, and enthusiasm for the marine industry make them invaluable additions to the RMC Electronics team. We look forward to their contributions and the continued success of our projects. Welcome aboard, Craig and Jared!

 

Craig Folker | Electrical Project Manager

RMC Electronics welcomes Craig Folker as the new Electrical Project Manager, whose distinguished career spans 18 years at Riviera Australia.

Craig’s journey in the marine industry began with an apprenticeship program at Riviera, where he quickly established himself as an exceptional professional. He was recognised as Queensland’s Apprentice of the Year at the 48th Queensland Training Awards in 2009, a well-deserved acknowledgement of his hard work, commitment, and passion for the marine industry.

Craig refined his expertise in marine electrical and electronic systems by immersing himself in each of the electrical divisions at Riviera. Driven by his true passion for the industry, his knowledge on Riviera’s and they’re systems is outstanding. From the outset, Craig played a pivotal role in the electrical design team, contributing to NPD (New Product Design) initiatives, and as his tenure at the factory progressed, Craig assumed the role of Warranty Manager, traveling across the globe to resolve issues in some of the most picturesque locations imaginable.

Before embarking on new pursuits, Craig served as the face of the Electrical and Electronics Division. In this capacity, he held the position of Manager and served as the primary liaison with new owners, guiding them through their selections for their vessels.

Craig’s exceptional technical proficiency and professionalism have established him as a valuable asset not only within RMC Electronics but also throughout the marine industry. His journey from a passionate apprentice to an industry leader serves as a shining example of the rewards that dedication and genuine enthusiasm can bring to one’s career.

When it comes to brands like Garmin, Czone, Raymarine, Mastervault, Victron, Fusion, Volvo, and more, Craig is a remarkable source of knowledge. Whether discussing troubleshooting techniques or advising on upgrades to vessel electronics, Craig offers invaluable insights and vessel specific data to our clients.

Jared Jones | Apprentice Electrician

Jared’s journey into marine electronics began as a general hand, where his natural curiosity and aptitude for technology quickly became apparent. Drawn to the intricate world of electronics, he sought out an apprenticeship in marine electronics, eager to turn his passion into a fulfilling career.

With a background in electronics and communications, Jared excels in the hands-on nature of his work. Under Craig’s expert mentorship, he is learning to master marine electrical systems’ complexities, diagnosing issues, installing upgrades, and keeping our clients’ vessels running smoothly.

Jared’s love for the outdoors isn’t confined to his work. As an avid camper and boater, he understands the vital role of reliable electronics in enhancing any on-the-water adventure.

We’re excited to be part of his journey and see all he accomplishes in this dynamic industry.

Stepping up to new challenges:

Travis’s deep understanding of warranty management processes and extensive experience in the Superyacht industry gained as a ship engineer are invaluable assets in his new role as Project Manager of the RMC Service Centre. His proven track record in resolving complex warranty issues and ensuring seamless yacht deliveries translates into exceptional service for R Marine Crawley’s expanding client base, where he is now responsible for overseeing a more comprehensive range of projects and ensuring their successful completion.

 

Travis Cross | RMC Service Centre Project Manager

Travis’s passion for the industry led him to R Marine Crawley, where his exceptional work in warranty management earned him a well-deserved promotion.  Now, as a Project Manager with the RMC Service Centre, he leverages his extensive knowledge from both warranty and yacht operations on global voyages. His expertise and dedication ensure top-shelf experiences and service for our growing R Marine Crawley clientele.
