Tim says RMC represented his Riviera 40 flybridge well

We spoke with Tim who recently listed and sold his Riviera 40 through R Marine Crawley pre-owned and was very pleased with the outcome.

In general, what were you impressed with regarding the service from RMC when selling your 40 Flybridge?

“They got people through the boat basically.
When I met Michael (Michael Donnan) and told him about the boat and the great condition it was in, obviously, I explained I wanted top dollar because of the extras and additional items I’d placed on the boat when I bought it. Straight away he was happy to work with me in achieving the best price point possible and that remained the entire way through the listing“.

Regarding the brand, what’s your history with Riviera and what would you say about the standard after owning one?

“Well, hahaha, I remember when I had my first tinny and I was laughing at this the other day actually. I was over at South Straddie with Mum and Dad and I said to mum, I’ll have one of those one day (Riviera’s) then she just laughed at me and said sure! I’ve always wanted one and having a Riviera in Australia is just where you want to be, that’s the boat you just want to have.

Having said that, just some other feedback for you guys, I was at the boat show last year and was interested in having a squiz at another brand but after seeing the new 50 Sports Motor Yacht compared to the other brand I was interested in, quickly changed my mind back to Riviera. It’s like chalk and cheese and I wasn’t the only one. We were up on the flybridge of the 50 with another two couples and we were discussing the exact same thing and how much better the look, the final fit-out and design is. Riviera is just way above the rest“.

What about lifestyle? Tell us what you used your Riviera for mostly?

“When we bought the 40 I originally decked it out for fishing, but timewise it ended up being more of a family boat. I spent some money on upgrading the electronics etc which was ok because it added to the resale of the boat in the end.
The next boat will be larger and actually, you guys at RMC are on the hunt for something for me now so we can get up north a little bit more. It will be more of a cruising family boat to enjoy the lifestyle and have some fun on.”

If any Riviera model could be yours, what would the ideal model be for your lifestyle?

“The Rivera 50 Sports Motor Yacht.
Like I said when I stepped on board at the boat show I was immediately impressed. I was able to go everywhere on the 50 without hitting my head or squeezing around places to get into cabins. Even the stairs onboard were wide and spacious. It just had that class about the fit-out too“.
